Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has written a letter to all the MPs on Saturday regarding the breach in the security of Parliament. In the letter, the Lok Sabha Speaker has expressed grief and concern over the incident of December 13. He said that immediate action was initiated on all the subjects suggested by the MPs. Two committees have been formed to thoroughly investigate the breach in the security of Parliament, which will conduct a quick investigation and submit a report.

He said that a high level investigation committee will soon give a report on the incident of November 13. The second high level committee will give various suggestions for security in the parliamentary complex. The Speaker has written in his letter that there is no connection between the recent suspension of MPs from the House and the security lapse incident of December 13. Still, some MPs and parties are lumping them together, which is unfortunate.

This rule was decided at the time of entry into the new Parliament House

Speaker Om Birla said in a letter to the MPs that the suspension of the MPs is only to comply with high parliamentary decorum, it has nothing to do with the incident of December 13. At the time of entering the new Parliament building, everyone had decided together that they would not bring placards and placards inside the Parliament and would not create ruckus in the well of the House.

He said that the uproar and such conduct during the proceedings of the House displeases the people of the entire country, hence we were unanimous that we will establish the highest standards of parliamentary decorum and decency in the new Parliament House. In this context, to protect the dignity and reputation of the House, the House has had to take the tough decision of suspending the MPs. I am also saddened by this decision, but it is also expected from all the MPs that in future all the members will keep the dignity of the House paramount.
