Uttarakhand Film Development Council Chief Executive Officer and Director General Information Banshidhar Tiwari paid a courtesy call to famous film actor Anupam Kher on Sunday. Anupam Kher is currently touring various places in Uttarakhand in connection with the location recce of his new film. This meeting took place at the proposed shooting location in Indiranagar in Dehradun. Anupam Kher has also done location recce of Lansdowne area recently.

Banshidhar Tiwari informed Anupam Kher about the film policy of Uttarakhand and wished him all the best for his new film. Tiwari said that a special provision has been made in the proposed film policy of Uttarakhand to encourage new film locations. Apart from this, a special grant has also been arranged for the inclusion of artists and crew members from Uttarakhand. He said that a 360 degree ecosystem is being created for film production in the state in which outside filmmakers as well as local filmmakers and artists and technicians will get special opportunities. He said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has given instructions to work strongly on the three aspects of 3T i.e. talent, technology and training.

In accordance with the vision of the Chief Minister, a new film policy is being brought in which there are many provisions which are in accordance with the modern requirements of cinema and content production. Web series, documentaries and short films are also being given place in the new policy. Anupam Kher told that the shooting of his new film is proposed from the month of April and more than 90% of the shooting is planned to be done in Uttarakhand only. His upcoming film is based on a story based on military background for which he has done location recce in and around Lansdowne. Praising the environment related to film production in Uttarakhand, he said that Uttarakhand is fast becoming a popular film shooting destination. He expressed hope that due to the film friendly policies of the government, Uttarakhand will emerge as the best shooting destination in the country in the coming times. Tiwari welcomed Kher by presenting him a shawl and a replica of the state flower Brahmakamal. On this occasion, Nodal Officer of Uttarakhand Film Development Council, Dr. Nitin Upadhyay was also present.
