Lok Sabha figures: 206 CRPF soldiers committed suicide from 2020 to 2023

Uproar continues in the winter session of Parliament over the issue of lapse in security of Parliament. Amid uproar by the opposition, 49 MPs were once again suspended from the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Amidst the uproar, Union Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai presented the figures of deaths by CRPF personnel due to suicide and infighting. Giving a written reply to a question, Rai said that the trend of suicide cases by CRPF personnel has not increased during the last three years. He said that from the year 2020 to 2023, 206 CRPF personnel committed suicide.
At the same time, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said in a written reply in the Lok Sabha that if we talk about the incidents of fighting among the force personnel, there has been no incident of mutual fighting in the CRPF in the last two years. The number of such incidents in CRPF from 2018 to 2023 is 14. Meanwhile, the number of deaths in such cases during the same period is 17.
Further, in response to another question, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai also gave information about criminals of foreign origin. He said that records of more than 95 thousand foreign criminals have been registered in the National Database (NDOFO) till November 2023.
More than 2,900 medicines found substandard, 422 fake – Government
At the same time, in response to another question on Tuesday, Minister of State for Health Bharati Praveen Pawar said that out of 89,729 medicine samples tested between April 2022 and March 2023, 2,921 medicines were found not to be of standard quality. During this period, 422 medicines were identified as fake.
Minister of State for Health Bharati Praveen Pawar also said that 642 cases were initiated for manufacturing, selling and distributing fake/adulterated medicines. At the same time, 262 people were arrested in different states during this period. This does not include data from Rajasthan.
