‘Neither PM waiting Rahul Gandhi is serious, nor his party…’ JDU MP again cornered Congress on India Alliance
Opposition alliance India Block is currently busy preparing for the Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, the statements of Alliance ally JDU leader and MP Sunil Kumar Pintu are continuously being discussed. Pintu, who had mentioned about the absence of ‘samosas’ in the meeting a day earlier, has once again taken the Congress to task. He has taunted Rahul Gandhi by calling him PM waiting. Pintu said, Congress has a stubborn attitude regarding the alliance. Congress is not serious. Neither Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge nor his PM-in-waiting Rahul Gandhi is serious.
Just two days ago (19 December) the fourth meeting of India Alliance was held in Delhi. There was discussion on seat sharing. Many other issues were discussed in the meeting and deadlines were fixed. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his party JDU leader MP Sunil Kumar Pintu also attended this meeting. After the meeting, Pintu showed rebellious attitude against Nitish Kumar and the party line. Regarding the meeting, he said, ‘Earlier tea and samosas were served in the meetings, but now Congress itself has said that there is shortage of funds. People should donate to them. Yesterday’s meeting was limited to tea and biscuits, even samosas were not available.
‘Nitish should lead the alliance’
JDU MP Sunil Kumar Pintu further said, ‘Our leader (Nitish Kumar) is neither in the race for Prime Minister nor is he angry.’ He said, ‘Every person of Bihar would like that Nitish Kumar should take over the leadership of India Alliance. Pintu said, ‘It is wrong to raise questions on EVM. The opposition should find its shortcomings and not blame EVM. He said, ‘Our leader Nitish Kumar has done the work of bringing all the parties on one platform.’
‘Due to the attitude of Congress, the meeting was limited to tea and biscuits’
Sunil Kumar Pintu claimed that Nitish Kumar had come to the meeting of India Alliance to decide on seat sharing and leadership. But due to the stubborn attitude of Congress, the meeting of India Alliance ended with tea and biscuits and nothing else happened. Now very few days are left. If there is no decision on seat sharing and leadership in the coming days, then Congress will have to think that it has to save the India alliance and give up its stubborn attitude.
‘Leaders from other states had come for a serious meeting’
He said, earlier the meeting of India Alliance was limited to tea and samosas, but this time tea came on biscuits because the Congress leadership had recently said that they do not have funds. The 138 year old party is asking for donations of Rs 138, 1380 and 13,800 from the public. Donation had not arrived yet, hence in this meeting of India Alliance, the matter remained only on truth and biscuits, samosa could not come. Many Chief Ministers left their states and came to Delhi for a serious meeting and you (Congress) are not serious, nor is Congress National President and their PM-in-waiting Rahul Gandhi serious.
‘Kharge rejected the proposal, pointed towards Rahul’
Pintu also told that after Mamata Banerjee’s proposal, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge immediately refused and pointed towards him (Rahul Gandhi). The need of the hour is that the Prime Ministerial candidate of India Alliance should be announced. Every person of Bihar would like that someone from Bihar (Nitish Kumar) should take over the leadership of the Prime Ministerial candidate. However, our leaders are repeatedly refusing.
‘There is no confusion regarding EVM’
JDU MP said, in the meeting of India Alliance, the regional party should immediately decide who will lead. There is no confusion regarding EVM. This is the opposition’s way of not accepting defeat and blaming others. Earlier in Bihar and UP, elections were held on ballot paper. Today a 60 year old man will tell that till date he has never seen the ballot paper and has never voted because there was booth capturing. Today a 90 year old man is casting his vote through EVM. Today, when the opposition won Karnataka and Telangana, EVM was good there and as soon as there was defeat in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, EVM came there.
He said, the opposition will have to accept the public’s decision. The truth is that if the people have given mandate to BJP in three states then they should accept it and find their shortcomings and not the EVMs.
