Rajkumar Hirani gave his weakest film to Shahrukh, read movie review of Dunki
Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar starrer Dunky has been released in theaters on December 21, directed by Rajkumar Hirani. There was tremendous hype about the film and then there was the coming together of blockbuster director Rajkumar Hirani and the king of Bollywood Shahrukh Khan for the first time. But it has often been seen that when two giants meet, it is not necessary that they can touch the stars. Many times he reaches the depths of the earth. Something similar is indicated after seeing Dunki.
Dunki Story
The story of Dunki is about four youth from Punjab who want to go abroad. Also want to go abroad to London. He has some compulsions and he wants to fight them by earning money. Of course life is not that easy. Shahrukh Khan comes into his life and tries to help him. There is comedy and tragedy is also seen. Amidst all this, Dunki starts looking a bit like Three Idiots. Then Shahrukh Khan takes him to London via the dinky route. A lot happens in the film. If not, then acting, story and strong direction are seen. The first half of the film gives some laughs. Seconds get tiring and by the end everything becomes a joke.
Dunki’s Direction
Rajkumar Hirani has not given any flop film in his career till date. But this time he does not seem to be maintaining his record. Very weak direction, many scenes related to immigration appear very childish. Then the kind of work that has been done to Shahrukh Khan is complete injustice to him. Sometimes a glimpse of Chennai Express is seen and sometimes a whiff of Veer Zara is also seen in the film. Overall, Rajkumar Hirani has disappointed.
Acting in Dunki
Rajkumar Hirani is known for strong stories. He also brought up the issue of immigration in Dunki and told how people are ready to go abroad even without a visa. It was true that Shahrukh Khan was brought in but he was not allowed to dominate the film. In this way, Shahrukh Khan sacrificed his life but Rajkumar Hirani did not allow him to come forward and did injustice to him by giving a weak story. Taapsee Pannu also disappoints. Boman Irani becomes quite boring. Many scenes of Anil Grover and Vikram Kochhar are memorable.
Dunki Verdict
There is comedy in the first half. But there is nothing in the name of the story. Shahrukh Khan’s dialogue delivery has been seen weak. The first half is not so special, which Shahrukh Khan made his mark with Pathan and Jawan in the year 2023. She is seen getting washed because of the donkey. Rajkumar Hirani has given the weakest film till date. Those who are fans of Shahrukh and Rajkumar Hirani can watch this film, others will need courage to watch the film.
