Uttar Pradesh: Gonda: Wife donated kidney to save brother’s life, husband asked for 40 lakhs, if he did not agree then gave divorce

In Dhanepur police station area of Gonda district, a case of triple talaq being given to a woman who donated her kidney to save her brother’s life by her husband working abroad has come to light. Giving this information on Friday, the police said that a case has been registered against the accused husband and investigation is being done. Sadar area police officer Shilpa Verma said on Friday that on the complaint of the victim woman Tarannum (42), a case has been registered against her husband Mohammad Rashid under relevant sections at Dhanepur police station of the district and investigation has been started.

Husband went to Saudi Arabia to earn money after marrying for the second time

25 years ago, Tarannum, a resident of Bauriyahi village of Dhanepur police station area, was married to Mohammad Rashid, a resident of neighboring village Jaitapur. After 5 years of marriage, when Tarannum did not have any child, Mohammad Rashid got married for the second time and went to Saudi Arabia to earn his own living. The CO said that Tarannum’s elder brother Mohammad Shakir, who lives in Mumbai and works as a tailor, was suffering from kidney failure and was being treated at Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai. Doctors advised kidney transplant to save his life. On this, Tarannum, in order to save her brother’s life, talked to her husband in Saudi Arabia and donated one of her kidneys to her brother.

Gave triple talaq from Saudi on WhatsApp

Quoting the complaint lodged, the CO said that Tarannum’s husband later called her and asked her to demand Rs 40 lakh from him in exchange for giving the kidney to his brother. When Tarannum refused, about 4 months ago, her husband divorced her by calling her on WhatsApp and saying ‘talaq’ three times. Tarannum told this to her in-laws who threw her out of the house. Since then she is living in her maternal home. CO Verma said that on the complaint of the victim woman at Dhanepur police station, a case has been registered against her husband and investigation has been started.
