Uttarakhand: CM Dhami alert regarding new variant of Covid JN-1, meeting with officials, Health Secretary issued new guidelines

The new variant of Covid-19, JN-1, is spreading rapidly in the country and the world. In view of this, Uttarakhand Health Department has also become alert. In the same sequence, today CM Dhami held a meeting with the officials of the Health Department at the Secretariat and took feedback regarding health services and facilities. Meanwhile, the CM directed the officials to make every possible effort to control the new variant of Corona, JN-1. Apart from this, the CM also took information from the Health Secretary about the resources and preparations made to deal with emergency situations in all the hospitals of the state.
Health Secretary issued new guidelines
Health Secretary Dr. R Rajesh Kumar said that guidelines have been issued regarding the new variant of Corona, JN-1. Besides, instructions have been given to monitor respiratory patients through guidelines. He said that all the District Magistrates and Chief Medical Officers of the state have been instructed to be fully prepared to deal with Corona.
Health department alert to deal with new variants of Corona
The Health Secretary said that at present, more than 50 pathology labs are established across the state for Covid testing. In which there is facility of anti rapid test at PHC and CHC level. Besides, there is complete arrangement of oxygen and beds in the hospitals of the state for the patients suffering from Covid and influenza. He said that currently 5,893 oxygen supported isolation beds, 1,204 ICU beds, 894 ICU beds with ventilators, 1,298 functional ventilators, 7,561 oxygen concentrators, 15,950 oxygen cylinders, 93 functional PSA plants and 807 functional oxygen storage tanks are available. Apart from this, a team of 3,161 paramedical staff trained in Covid-19 management is included.
No patients of new variant found in Uttarakhand
CM Dhami said that till now not a single case of the new variant of Corona JN-1 has been reported in the state, but the government is completely alert. To deal with the new variant of Corona, JN-1, oxygen beds, ICU and other facilities have been arranged in hospitals. Besides, instructions have been given to all hospitals to continuously monitor respiratory and heart patients.
