Uttarakhand: Garhwal Commissioner got angry in the meeting of Transport Department, reprimanded the auto drivers

In the RTA meeting of the Transport Department, Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey got angry at the auto drivers. Earlier in the meeting, along with discussion on 24 proposals, instructions were given to give auto permits to e-rickshaw drivers for door to door vehicles. On which the auto drivers started raising slogans outside during the meeting. In such a situation, the Garhwal Commissioner got angry at the auto drivers. However, after the matter calmed down, Commissioner Pandey gave instructions to hold talks with the auto drivers.

At the same time, it was decided in the meeting that Vikram will not be banned from Ghantaghar and Parade Ground, but GPS will be installed in all commercial vehicles. So that Vikram is not able to board the ride by stopping at various places. If anyone violates the rules, his permit will be cancelled. Apart from this, instructions have been given to RTO to set up a control room. All commercial vehicles will be monitored from these control rooms. Monitoring will be done for the first one month and after that further decision will be taken.

In the RTA meeting, emphasis was laid on promoting medium vehicles to provide services to the general public within the city. Discussions were held to run these vehicles on different routes. At the same time, Garhwal Commissioner Pandey asked the Transport Department to take action in collaboration with the Police Department to solve the problem of jam. Vehicle service in hilly areas was also discussed in the meeting. He instructed the police department to take action against the operation of e-rickshaws on restricted routes and violation of rules.

At the same time, in the meeting, there was talk of providing door to door public transport to the general public and controlling air pollution along with reducing traffic. Under this, there was talk about giving priority to e-rickshaw drivers for granting permits for new Euro 6 or new CNG autos under Dehradun city, but the auto drivers came out against it. On which Commissioner Pandey said that at present only those e-rickshaw drivers will be given auto permits.

After this, when the auto drivers went out of the meeting, they started raising slogans against the transport department. On which the employees again called the representative of the auto driver inside the meeting. Where the Garhwal Commissioner got very angry at him. However, after that the Garhwal Commissioner asked the auto drivers to talk to the RTO to study this scheme.

Dehradun RTO Sunil Sharma said that the RTA meeting was held under the chairmanship of Garhwal Commissioner. 24 points were discussed in the meeting. He said that apart from Dehradun, buses will be operated on the village route in other cities also. So that the general public can get convenience in commuting. After the decision taken in the meeting, work on these points will be started as soon as possible.
