Highest number of Corona patients in two states of the country, experts advised
An increase in Corona cases is being seen in the country for the last few days. Along with active cases, cases of the new variant of Corona, JN.1, are also increasing in various states. According to the information of the Union Health Ministry, 628 new cases of corona have been reported in the last 24 hours.
Till December 24, a total of 63 cases of JN.1 variant of Corona have been reported in the country. Maximum 34 cases have been reported in Goa, 9 from Maharashtra, 6 from Karnataka, 4 from Tamil Nadu and 2 from Telangana.
Most patients in these two states
The highest number of Corona cases have been seen in Kerala and Maharashtra. Kerala has reported 128 new COVID-19 cases and 1 death in the last 24 hours. According to the Health Ministry website, active cases in the state have increased to 3,128. On the other hand, 50 new corona cases have been reported in Maharashtra, out of which nine cases of JN.1 have been reported, making a total of 10 cases of the new variant in the state. Of these 10 cases, five are in Thane, two in Pune and one each in Sindhudurg, Akola and Pune Rural districts.

Amid rising cases of Corona, NITI Aayog member Dr VK Paul had said last week that the scientific community in India is investigating the new Covid sub-variant and stressed the need for states to increase testing and strengthen their surveillance systems.
