PTI said in a post on X that Shah Mehmood Qureshi was arrested again from outside Adiala jail after being released on bail in the cipher case. The video related to this is also going viral on social media. In the video, the 67-year-old former foreign minister is seen being forcibly taken away in an armored police vehicle by an officer dressed in Punjab Police uniform and Shah Mahmood Qureshi continues to protest against it.

Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Hasan Waqar Cheema on Tuesday withdrew the order issued for Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s 15-day detention, PTI said. However, the police have not yet commented on this matter.

Terming the arrest illegal, the former Foreign Minister said that the police are making a mockery of the orders of the Supreme Court and cruelty and injustice are at their peak. He said that they are arresting me again in a false case. They said,

I represent the country, I am innocent and I am being targeted for political revenge without any reason

It should be noted that the Supreme Court on Friday had granted bail to Imran Khan and Shah Mehmood Qureshi in the cipher case. Besides, instructions were also given to deposit bail bonds of Rs 10 lakh each. At the same time, Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s daughter has expressed hope for her father’s release.
