Maharashtra / Satara: Cancer accepted the weakness in the body, then murdered the 12 year old son, this case will shock you

Misconceptions and unverified information related to cancer took the life of a 12-year-old boy in a village in Satara district of Maharashtra. According to the report of The Times of India, on December 23, the boy’s body was found in a field in Hivre village of Koregaon tehsil of Satara. Police arrived on the information of local people, took the body into their custody and sent it for post-mortem and started investigating the case.

What the police found out in their investigation is surprising. Actually, a farmer of the village was feeling weak in his body – he assumed that he was suffering from cancer. He killed his 12-year-old son out of fear that the child might also fall prey to this disease. According to the police, the farmer was also worried about who would take care of his son in his absence.

Police became suspicious after seeing post mortem report

Police have arrested a 45-year-old farmer on charges of murdering his minor son. After the boy’s body was recovered, during the post-mortem doctors concluded that he was strangled with a rope. Satara Superintendent of Police Sameer Shaikh formed a team of personnel from the local crime wing and Wathar police station to investigate the case. Upon interrogating witnesses, the investigation team found the involvement of the boy’s father Vijay Khatal in the crime.

The accused accepted weakness in the body as cancer

Giving information about the case, SP Sameer Shaikh said, ‘Accused Vijay Khatal believed that he had cancer and his son could also get this disease. Khatal also feared that she had only a few months left to live and after her death there would be no one left to take care of her only child. Vijay Khatal never actually had cancer. He was feeling weak and assumed it to be cancer.

The court sent the accused to police custody

Superintendent of Police Sameer Sheikh said that the man has already confessed to killing his son. Shaikh said, ‘Police initially thought it was a case of human sacrifice, however, that aspect has now been ruled out. Vijay Khatal was emotionally unstable and had suffered some trauma, which we are investigating. He told us the details of the crime and after verifying them we arrested him. The court has given Khatal in police custody till December 29.
