Pakistan: Encounter between Pakistani army and terrorists in Balochistan, five terrorists killed; cache of weapons found
Five terrorists have been killed in an encounter in Pakistan’s restive Balochistan province. Pakistani Army has given information about this on Sunday. The Army said that during an intelligence operation last night, there was an encounter between the soldiers and the terrorists, in which five terrorists were killed.
Pakistani army seized a cache of weapons
According to the army, many weapons, ammunition and explosives have been recovered from the hideouts of the terrorists. Pakistani Army said that a campaign is being conducted across the country to eliminate terrorists. Pakistan Army said in the statement that Pakistan’s security forces are committed to stand in solidarity with the nation and thwart attempts to harm the peace, stability and progress of Balochistan.
Terrorist incidents are continuously increasing in Pakistan
It is noteworthy that Pakistan has seen an increase in terrorist attacks in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan in recent months. A day earlier, the Army said that five terrorists were killed during an operation in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In early December, 25 Pakistani soldiers were killed in two separate terrorist incidents on the same day, including a terrorist attack in Dera Ismail Khan. This was the highest number of deaths in a single day in the army in terrorist attacks this year.
Highest number of suicide attacks since 2014
According to data released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), the country witnessed the highest number of suicide attacks this year since 2014, with almost half of them targeting security forces. At least 48 percent of the deaths have been of security forces personnel.
