Uttarakhand: Politics heats up over viral video of cabinet minister, Congress attacks, raises questions

The politics of the state has heated up after the audio video of the conversation between BJP MLA Ram Singh Kaida and allegedly a cabinet minister went viral on social media. Congress has attacked this matter and demanded the government to bring the truth before the public. The party has called it a very serious matter.

State Congress President Karan Mahara said that the person with whom the Bhimtal MLA is talking is a minister in the Uttarakhand government, but the minister has denied being on the call. In such a situation, the Uttarakhand government and the BJP organization should ask their MLA Kaida as to who was the person on the phone with him, whom he was misleading the local public by calling as the Forest Minister. Mahara said that if there is truth in Kaida’s words then the situation is indeed regrettable.

He said that this kind of language style does not suit the people working in the public sector. In the video and audio that is going viral, a mutual conversation between a BJP MLA and a minister is heard, in which the BJP MLA is seeking guidance and help from the minister regarding the damage caused by wildlife and human conflict. Mahara said that the conversation is very condemnable and in it the other person can be heard making objectionable remarks in very indecent language regarding the High Court.

Not only this, during the conversation the person is also talking to the BJP MLA about arresting and killing the person filing the PIL, which is very condemnable. Mahara said that if it is verified that the second person who spoke to Ram Singh Kaida was the Forest Minister, then the Chief Minister should personally intervene and publicly apologize to the Minister. Apart from this, the High Court should take suo motu cognizance and take strict action against the minister, so that such cases are not repeated.
