Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu gave instructions to construct more and more cow shelters in the state.

Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu reviewed the progress of construction of cow shelters in the state at the Secretariat on Wednesday. The Chief Secretary said that more and more cow shelters should be constructed in the state as soon as possible so that cows can be removed from the roads of the state and shifted to cow shelters.
The Chief Secretary said that this work will be done under Urban Development in urban areas and Zilla Parishad in rural areas. He said that to completely saturate the state with the scheme, the budget will be arranged through the missing link. He directed that the cowsheds should be made bigger so that there is no need to expand them again in the coming 10-15 years. For this, the proposals for small cow shelters sent earlier should be returned and proposals for big cow shelters should be sought in the next one week. He directed the officials to submit an action plan along with a timeline to free the roads from stray cows in the next 10 days. Said that a mechanism should also be prepared for management and monitoring of cow shelters.
On this occasion, Secretary Dr. B.V.R.C. Purushottam, H.C. Semwal and Additional Secretary Arunendra Chauhan and other officers were present.
