Uttar Pradesh: Fake goods were being sold in TATA packs, after the accused were caught it became clear how to identify genuine and fake goods

A huge quantity of unbranded tea and salt was seized from a person in Greater Noida, UP on Wednesday, which was meant to be sold in the market in the name of Tata brand. Police said that the accused has also been caught and a case has been registered against him for fraud and copyright infringement. An official said that the accused Tarun Jain alias Tannu was caught by the officials of local Dadri police station. A police spokesperson said, “On Wednesday, the accused was arrested from Railway Station Road in Dadri who was selling fake salt and tea packed in Tata company wrappers.”

Were running fake business for 6 months

He said that 12 open packets of Tata Tea Premium, 45 sealed packets of Tata Salt, 10 open packets of Tata Salt, 1490 foils of Tata Tea Premium empty packing, 250 foils of empty packing of Tata Salt, packets made from him were recovered from him. A machine, weighing machine etc. were recovered. The arrested accused Tarun Jain is a resident of Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar. He used to keep fake salt and tea in the house. After this, he was doing the business of packing and selling in the market for about 6 months. Earlier this gang used to do fake business in Faridabad, Haryana. From there these accused have gone to jail.

This is how to identify fake salt and tea leaves-

  1. The wrapper of genuine Tata salt is thinner than the wrapper of fake salt.
  2. The packet of real salt will be completely white in color, whereas the fake salt will appear light yellow in color.
  3. Along with this, real salt will be thin to touch and fake salt will be thicker than real salt.
  4. Genuine salt can also be identified from the bar code given on the packet.
  5. Whereas outside the packing of genuine Tata tea leaves, the middle line will be visible in silver and in the fake packing, it will be seen in green line.
  6. Apart from this, customers can also identify the original through the bar code of Tata Company given on the packet.
