AI deepfakes will be in focus in the meeting chaired by PM Modi

Amidst the increasing threat of deepfakes and problems of cyber crime in the country, a conference of DGPs and IGs of different states across the country is being held in Jaipur on 5-7 January. PM Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah are also attending this meeting. The meeting will also discuss national security, terrorism and the threat of deepfakes amid emerging technology.
In this conference which will last till Sunday, the Indian Justice Code or rather the roadmap for the implementation of the new criminal law will be discussed. Issues like cyber crime, policing technology, challenges of fighting terrorism, Naxalism, prison reforms will also be discussed in the conference.
Focus on new threat deepfake
The biggest focus in the DGP-IG meeting will be on the increasing threat of deepfakes after the advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Strategies to deal with these threats will also be discussed. In the conference, the real threat and the action plan to deal with it will also be told to the PM. In recent times, deepfakes have emerged as a new threat. Police officers will have to make a strategy to deal with it and stop it.
PM Modi will be present in all big meetings
Since 2014, PM Narendra Modi takes the meeting of DGP and IG very seriously and he is present in almost all the major sessions of this conference.
The 58th DGP-IG National Conference will begin at 2 pm today. PM Modi is scheduled to reach Jaipur in the afternoon for this conference to be held at Rajasthan International Center (RIC). PM Modi, who is arriving on a three-day tour, will stay at Raj Bhawan while Home Minister Amit Shah will stay at the government guest house. DGP officers will stay in the new flats of MLAs built near the Assembly.
