AAP leader Sanjay Singh gets big relief from the court! Now you will be able to go out and file your nomination for Rajya Sabha

Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh, who was arrested in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, has got a big relief from the court. A Delhi court has given permission to Sanjay Singh to personally file nomination for the upcoming Rajya Sabha elections.

Earlier on Friday (January 5), Aam Aadmi Party had again nominated Sanjay Singh ND Gupta for the second term in Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, the party had made Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) Chairperson Swati Maliwal its candidate for Rajya Sabha.

Two Rajya Sabha MPs re-nominated

On behalf of the Political Affairs Committee of the Aam Aadmi Party, it was said that the committee has decided to re-nominate two existing members while Sushil Kumar Gupta has expressed his desire to focus on the electoral politics of Haryana. Sushil Kumar Gupta’s tenure as Rajya Sabha member will end at the end of this month.

Earlier, Sanjay Singh, arrested in a money laundering case related to the alleged scam related to Delhi Excise Policy, was allowed by a court to sign documents for re-nomination as a Rajya Sabha member. Special Judge MK Nagpal had given this order on the application of Sanjay Singh.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Sanjay Singh had said, “His current term as Rajya Sabha member is ending on January 27. The Returning Officer issued a notice on January 2 to hold elections and file nominations for it by January 9.” In the application, a request was made to direct the Superintendent of Tihar Jail to allow Sanjay Singh to sign the documents.
