Afghanistan team announced for T20 series against India, many star players of IPL included in the team
The Afghanistan team has been announced for the three T20 matches between India and Afghanistan. A total of 19 players have been included in the team led by Ibrahim Zadran. This team includes many players who have done wonders in IPL. Rashid Khan and Rahmanullah Gurbaz are one of them. The T20 series between India and Afghanistan will be played from January 11 to January 17.
The first match of the T20 series will be held on January 11 in Mohali. The second match will be played in Indore on 14 January and the third match will be played in Bengaluru on 17 January. There have been two changes in the Afghanistan team for this series. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was not part of the team in the recent three-match T20 series against UAE. He is making a comeback. Whereas Ikram Alikhil was a reserve player against UAE, he is now in the main team as a backup wicketkeeper-batsman.

Afghanistan team for series against India
Ibrahim Zadran (captain), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ikram Alikhil (wk), Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Azmoullah Omarzai, Sharfuddin Ashraf, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Farid Ahmed, Naveen Ul Haq, Noor Ahmed, Mohammad Saleem, Quaish Ahmed, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan.
Rashid is difficult to play
Afghanistan’s regular T20 captain Rashid Khan has been included in the squad, but he will not feature in any matches, the Afghanistan Cricket Board said in a release. He recently had back surgery and is recovering from this injury. Meanwhile, Ibrahim Zadran will take charge of the team, who recently led Afghanistan to a 2-1 series win against UAE in Sharjah.
Rohit-Kohli may return to the Indian team
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma may return to the Indian team for this series. Both the veteran players have not played any match for the country since the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-finals. Keeping in mind the T20 World Cup to be held in June this year, Kohli and Rohit can be included in the T20 team.
