TMC leader Shahjahan’s house was also attacked
Earlier, the ED team that had gone to raid Shahjahan Shake’s house was attacked on Friday. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) said its officers suffered serious injuries and their items like mobile phones and wallets were looted in a mob attack during a raid in West Bengal’s 24 Parganas district on Friday. The federal agency said it has lodged a complaint with the local police to register an FIR against the accused. Actually, ED officials are preparing ‘two sets’ of reports on the attacks on his associates by the mob during the raid on the residence of TMC leader Shahjahan Shaik in West Bengal.

When did the attack happen
The ED team was attacked when it had gone to search the residence of Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Sheikh Shahjahan in Sandeshkhali in North 24 Parganas in connection with the ration distribution scam. The agency said that ED officers were attacked by the mob (suspectedly instigated by Shaikh and his associates) while performing their duties. Three officers suffered serious injuries as the mob was moving towards the ED officers with the aim of killing them. The federal agency said other officers had to flee the scene without being searched to save their lives, as the crowd became “very violent” and even chased the officers to prevent them from carrying out their official duties.
