Himachal Pradesh: 100 candidates from outside states took jobs in postal department with fake certificates, investigation revealed
Now the team of Anti Corruption Branch of Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Shimla has also started investigation into the scam of getting a job in the Postal Department in Himachal Pradesh through fake certificate. Till now the police of various districts of the state were investigating the matter, but as the number of people getting jobs through fake documents is increasing every day, now the help of CBI has also been taken for investigation. According to CBI investigation, more than 100 youth from outside the state have got jobs in different post offices of the state by preparing fake certificates. CBI was entrusted with the investigation in the last week of December. The Bureau believes that this is a big recruitment scam.
The Postal Department has handed over two cases of Hamirpur to the Anti-Corruption Branch of CBI Shimla. Different CBI teams raided Punjab, Bihar and Haryana on Thursday. The team has seized documents from the house of accused Kundan Kumar son of Bharat Shah, resident of Chandan Patti, Police Station Sakra, District Muzaffarpur. The house of accused Kundan in Ludhiana has also been raided. The house of the second accused Sunny son Srinivas, resident of Rohtak has also been raided. Documents have been seized in both the cases. It is noteworthy that in the recruitment process in the Postal Department, accused Kundan was appointed in Jamli branch of Sub Post Office Swarghat, Bilaspur in 2021. Whereas, in 2022-23, accused Sunny was also appointed in Lehri Sarail Post Office of Bilaspur. After the matter came to light, the appointment of both the candidates was cancelled.
Fake 10th class certificates were made from Tamil Nadu Board
The Postal Department had started the recruitment process in 2020 for the vacant posts of Gramin Dak Sevaks subordinate to the State Circle. For the above posts, postal servants were selected on the basis of merit list of 10th class marks. According to CBI, during the recruitment process, accused Kundan and Sunny forged the 10th class certificates. He had prepared fake certificates of class 10th in the name of Tamil Nadu State Board of School Examination, Chennai. According to investigation, no documents were issued in the name of these accused in the records of Tamil Nadu Board.
Shimla police is also investigating a dozen cases
Police are investigating about a dozen cases on getting jobs in Shimla. These cases have been registered in Sadar, Baluganj, Dhali, Theog, Chaupal, Rohru, Kumarsain and Kotkhai police stations. In this, Sonu, Vikram, Rakesh, Ravi Kumar, Sushil, Sahil, Rakesh, Aman, Vikas, Sahil, Ankit Kumar, Rahul from Jind, Haryana and Manish Kumar from Mandi got jobs in many branches of Shimla. He continued working from 2018 to 2022. Police is investigating which states other than Uttar Pradesh and Haryana could be connected to the mafia making fake certificates.
