Government websites remained halted for hours in Maldives after poisonous remarks on PM Modi, people cursed Muizzu government

Most government websites in Maldives were down on Saturday night. On trying to access, people found that the websites of Maldives President, Foreign Ministry and Tourism Department were not working for a long time. However, the websites were restarted by Sunday morning. This incident of government website being down in Maldives has happened when many officers, ministers and other people of Maldives were targeting the Indian government. Lewd comments were also made on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. At the same time, Maldives’ own people have reprimanded their government for spoiling relations with India. A former officer has also raised questions as to why PM Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep is being commented on.

Most of the government sites in Maldives were down on Saturday night. The experts had to put in a lot of effort to correct them. At the same time, the country’s former officer Farah Faisal has cornered its President Muizzu and Foreign Minister Musa Zameer for the comments coming from Maldives on Narendra Modi’s visit to Lakshadweep. Farah has said that Minister Musa Zameer needs to teach diplomacy to his officers. It is really sad and shameful to see some government officials attacking India, one of our closest allies, in a very unprofessional manner.

‘What problem is there for Maldives due to Modi’s visit?’

Farah Faisal has written in a statement that the Indian Prime Minister visited a part of his country and took photographs. What is the need for the officers and ministers of Maldives to give a statement on this is beyond comprehension. What are we trying to convey by reacting to the visit of the PM of a country within his own country? The President and the Foreign Minister of the country should think about this. This is also important because India has been an old ally of ours.

Let us tell you that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Lakshadweep has drawn a sharp reaction from Maldives. Maldivian Deputy Minister of Youth Empowerment, Information and Arts, Mariam Shiuna, spoke very poisonously and used words like ‘joker’ and ‘puppet of Israel’ for Narendra Modi. Due to which there has been a huge uproar on social media. Social users have slammed Maldivian government officials, including Maryam, for making indecent remarks against the Indian Prime Minister for sharing her photos from Lakshadweep island. PM Modi did not mention Maldives anywhere in his tweet but there is a continuous response from Maldives.
