Uttar Pradesh / Shahjahanpur: Police encounter with cow smugglers, three miscreants injured

There was an encounter between police and miscreants in the district on Saturday night. Three miscreants have been injured by bullets in the encounter. The police narrowly escaped the firing of miscreants in the encounter. At present, the injured miscreants have been admitted to the hospital. Four pistols and cartridges have been recovered from the arrested criminals. The police encounter with the miscreants took place after receiving information about cow slaughter. At present, the police is searching for two other absconding criminals.
Actually, Katra police had received information from an informer that six miscreants were slaughtering cows near Kamalpur canal in Khairpur area. After this, when the police surrounded the miscreants, the miscreants started firing heavily on the police team. Three miscreants were shot in police retaliatory firing. Whereas, the police ran and caught another criminal. The police narrowly escaped being shot by the miscreants.
It is being told that taking advantage of the darkness, the rest of the criminals managed to escape from the spot. The three miscreants injured in the police encounter have been admitted to the hospital. During interrogation, the injured miscreants revealed their names as Waris, Rehan and Akil. Whereas the fourth criminal caught has revealed his name as Asif. Apart from this, material used for cow slaughter has also been recovered from the accused. Police say that these miscreants were involved in many incidents of cow slaughter in the area. At present, the police is busy searching for the absconding criminals.
Additional Superintendent of Police Rural Manoj Kumar Awasthi said that six miscreants were committing cow slaughter. Based on the information, when the police surrounded the miscreants, the miscreants opened fire on the police team. After this the police also retaliated, in which three miscreants were injured. And the fourth criminal was caught after running. The injured have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The search for other accused is going on.
