Everyone drinks, I was just defamed, Praveen Kumar made serious allegations against senior cricketer
The early 2000s were an interesting time for Indian cricket. This was the period when boys from small cities, villages and towns of India were coming out and getting a place in Team India. Dhoni is a living example of this. Praveen Kumar also comes from a similar background, who came from a small place in UP and made a place in the Indian cricket team. Praveen, who troubled the opponents with his swing bowling, also used to bat explosively. From 2007 to 2012, Praveen Kumar played six Tests, 68 ODIs and 10 T20 International matches for India.
Praveen Kumar also played in IPL for teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kings XI Punjab, Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite being a brilliant talent, his international career did not last long. People often say that Praveen Kumar had an attitude problem. Some would say that he got angry easily. Some reports claimed that he has a drinking problem, but now Praveen Kumar has made a sensational revelation about his image.
In response to a question asked in an interview given to The Lallantop, Praveen Kumar says, ‘When I was in the Indian team, the seniors used to say, ‘Don’t drink, don’t do this, don’t do that. Everyone does it, but it’s the same thing, they defame him because he drinks PK. After retirement, even the UP team in Ranji Trophy did not call me for bowling coaching to the boys.
When asked whether seniors like Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly had advised him not to drink alcohol, Praveen replied, ‘No, I don’t want to take names on camera. Everyone knows who has defamed PK. Everyone knows him. People who know me personally know how I am. A bad image has been created of me.
