Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami posted on x and wrote that Devbhoomi’s daughter mountaineer late. Savita Kanswal was posthumously awarded “Tenzing Norgay National Courage Award-2022”.
In New Delhi, President Draupadi Murmu gave this honor to Savita’s father Radheshyam Kanswal. Savita Kanswal was the first Indian woman mountaineer to hoist the tricolor on Mount Everest and Mount Makalu in a span of 16 days.
