Uttarakhand: Chief Secretary took meeting of Finance Expenditure Committee regarding Sports Stadium in Agatsyamuni Rudraprayag, gave these necessary instructions
The Chief Secretary held a meeting of the Finance Expenditure Committee regarding the Sports Stadium at Agatsyamuni Rudraprayag in the Secretariat on Tuesday. During the meeting, the committee gave its approval to this scheme costing Rs 1765.61 lakh.
The Chief Secretary said that other sports facilities should be made available while ensuring availability of space for a sports stadium in Agatsyamuni Rudraprayag. He directed that a comprehensive plan for the next 5-10 years should be prepared for the entire state, so that the state can be filled with sports facilities in the next 5 to 10 years. Where sports facilities can be provided with minimum work, work should be started immediately.
The Chief Secretary directed the officials to provide need based sports facilities across the state. He said that if the youth start getting grounds and other facilities for playing, then the youth of the state will not indulge in drugs and other wrongdoings. He said that there are many private schools which have playgrounds but due to lack of funds, they are not able to use their playgrounds properly. He said that the focus should be on building sports infrastructure based on the need of the area in the playgrounds of all such government and private schools etc. of the state. With this, schools and local people will be able to take advantage of these playgrounds.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Special Principal Secretary Sports Shri Amit Sinha, Additional Secretary Shri Vijay Kumar Jogdande along with Additional Secretary and Director Sports Shri Jitendra Kumar Sonkar were also present.
