Uttarakhand: Death anniversary of late Devendra Shastri, BJP paid tribute through seminar

The party has paid tribute to late Devendra Shastri, one of the founders of BJP and Jan Sangh, on his death anniversary through a symposium. On this occasion, State President Mahendra Bhatt met the CM and assured to name a place in the name of late Shastri ji.

In this program held at the state headquarters, a large number of party officials and public representatives remembered late Shastri ji by paying floral tributes to his portrait. During his address, Bhatt said, along with the founding members of Jan Sangh and BJP, he has been among the first RSS pracharaks from Uttarakhand and those who had the concept of a separate state. Respecting the sentiments of the people present at the seminar to name any square or important place after Shastri ji, he assured that soon they will discuss this matter with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Also announced that in the coming days, a series of such ideological tribute programs for senior path-breaking leaders of the party will be organized at the district level also.

During this, while mentioning the memoirs and experiences related to Shastri ji, the speakers said, he has done the work of watering the roots of the banyan tree under which we are standing today in the form of BJP with thoughts, principles and hard work. He will always remain alive in the party and society through his ideological and practical philosophy of life. He contested elections many times on the party symbol, but not just to win, but to take forward the ideas of the party. From the freedom movement to the Emergency and state building, the simplicity and impeccable innings of politics is inspiring for everyone.
