CM Dhami took the first board meeting of Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB)

The first board meeting of Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Board (UIIDB) was held in the Secretariat on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Secretary to Chief Minister R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Vinay Shankar Pandey and other officers were present. In the meeting, along with the structure of the board and working committee, the creation of initial corpus fund of Rs 10 crore was also approved.

The Chief Minister said that it is important to pay attention to identifying the projects related to the infrastructure development of the state and ensuring their successful implementation on priority. The development of infrastructure sector projects like development and expansion of airports, telecom infrastructure, development of medical colleges, new township-housing, industrial logistics corridors, tourism related construction development in the state requires huge capital investment. He said that in view of the limited financial resources in the state, it is necessary to attract domestic and international capital investors to the region to meet the capital requirements for the development of the basic infrastructure of the state. For this, special attention will have to be paid to the promotion of Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects.

The Chief Minister said that in view of the constantly changing scenario and new requirements of development in the field of infrastructure development of the state, Uttarakhand Investment and Infrastructure Development Corporation has been formed to rapidly advance the development of infrastructure in the state of Uttarakhand and to develop PPP projects. Board (UIIDB) has been constituted. The Chief Minister directed that the objectives for which UIIDB should be fulfilled in the interest of the state. An effective action plan should be implemented so that its results are visible on the ground soon.

The Chief Minister directed that good subject experts along with high officials of the departments related to the structure of the board and the executive committee should also be nominated. If good and experienced experts join the board, then the work will be conducted in a better way. The Chief Minister directed that efforts should be made to prioritize the schemes to be implemented and complete them in a timely manner. He directed that priority should be given in selecting locations for wedding destinations along with Haridwar, Rishikesh Corridor, Sharda Corridor at various places in the state.

The Chief Minister said that apart from Trijuginarayan, there are many other picturesque places for wedding destination in the state. There are also instructions from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to develop the state as a wedding destination. Therefore, work should be done expeditiously in this direction. For this he also asked to take the services of a wedding planner. The Chief Minister also took prompt action on the proposals for two new townships in the state along with the development of areas around Biharigarh, Race Course, Yamuna Colony, H.M.T. Also asked to pay attention to the plans for redevelopment of Ranibagh.
