He said that women also participated enthusiastically in the Ram Mandir movement. On the occasion of the inauguration of Lord Shri Ram temple in Ayodhya on 22nd January, he appealed to the mother power that efforts should be made to make people aware to celebrate Ram Deepotsav festival on this auspicious occasion. On January 22, lamps should be lit in every house and Lord Ram should be praised in every temple. This is a matter of pride for the entire country.
The Chief Minister said that the work being done in the field of women empowerment under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi presents a wonderful picture of the new India. Prime Minister Modi has made revolutionary changes in the field of women empowerment by adopting the principle of “security along with convenience” for women. Today, women in every village have been connected with basic facilities like house, toilet, gas, electricity, water. He said that the government is also working with full sensitivity on the education, health, nutrition, vaccination and other essential needs of daughters. Today, women are becoming self-reliant by joining self-help groups across the country. Even in Uttarakhand, the sisters of women self-help groups have done unprecedented work in every field. At present there are about 70 lakh self-help groups in the country, to which about 8 crore sisters are associated, there has been more than three times increase in the number of self-help groups during the last 6-7 years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is continuously making efforts to increase the scope of self-employment among women and to ensure participation of more and more women in the resolve of self-reliant India.
He said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Modi, we are also making every possible effort to make women strong and self-reliant in our state. He said that under this process, along with giving 30 percent reservation to women in government jobs in the state, “Mukhyamantri Nari Sashaktikaran Yojana”, “Mukhyamantri Mahalaxmi Yojana”, “Lakhpati Didi Yojana”, “Mukhyamantri Self-Employment Scheme” etc. Schemes like “Nanda Gaura Matrivandana Yojana” and “Women Nutrition Campaign” have been started. He said that while on one hand we implemented the country’s toughest anti-copying law in Uttarakhand, we also made a law to stop religious conversion. For the first time in the state, action was taken against land jihad. At the same time, we did not shy away from taking action against the corrupt for the first time.
