Panchayati Raj Minister Satpal Maharaj confirmed this. Rajni Bhandari is accused that during his previous tenure as District Panchayat President, in the tender conducted by him for 64 works sanctioned by Shri Nanda Devi Rajjat in the year 2012-13, 30 works were approved from the maximum bidders instead of the minimum. This case was investigated in the year 2014.
Was removed from post after investigation
The investigation made it clear that Bhandari had violated the provisions contained in the Uttarakhand Procurement Rules in accepting the tenders. In this case, the government issued a show cause notice to Bhandari in the year 2021. When the answer was not satisfactory, he was removed from the post. Later he was reinstated on the orders of the High Court. After this, the government got the matter investigated by the Divisional Commissioner.
Answer did not seem satisfactory
The Divisional Commissioner submitted the investigation report to the government in May last year. Then in August a notice was sent to him, to which Bhandari sent a reply to the government on August 29. In this matter, orders have now been issued to remove him from the post. According to this, during the tenure of his previous president, Bhandari acted contrary to his official duties and responsibilities as a public servant. His reply was also not found satisfactory.
