Uttarakhand: Ultrasound of pregnant women stalled in Dehradun Medical College

Ultrasounds of pregnant women have come to a standstill in Doon Medical College Hospital. The women who came for ultrasound had to return disappointed. Many women were forced to undergo expensive ultrasounds at private centres. People also complained to MS and DMS.

Actually, Dr. Subodh Nautiyal, a radiologist affiliated with the Health Department, retired. After his departure, ultrasounds of pregnant women are not being done in Doon Hospital. Whereas, on an average there are ultrasounds here every day. Here, according to Principal Dr. Ashutosh Sayana, the process of Dr. Nautiyal joining the Medical Education Department is almost complete. Another radiologist Dr. Saurabh Sachar has also joined. Dr. Sachar has been asked to handle the ultrasound arrangements. There will be no problem now.

There is no provision for ultrasound even for women admitted through emergency. They have to go to private centres. Going to private centers just before delivery puts the woman and the fetus at risk. But, in OPD-IPD, ultrasounds are definitely being done for normal patients except pregnant ones.

Don’t know the doctor, how to give the date? When Reshma, Neetu, Gulista and Ruchi, who came to Doon Hospital for ultrasound, asked the employee to give them the date, he refused. The employee said that he did not know when the doctor would join? In such a situation, how can she give the next date?
When will the number of pharmacists increase in the dispensary?

Pharmacists are not being increased in the dispensary of Doon Hospital. Due to this, long lines are forming here. Rakesh, Javed, Vishnu said that the problem is due to more counters and less staff. Currently there are pharmacists here, whereas the need is for five. Those students whose internship is over are being called on request. DMS Dr. Dhananjay Doval says that all the counters have been run. The staff has been asked to give the medicine after seeing the ID at the counter. Pharmacists from other counters are being deployed in the dispensary.
