Rakhi Sawant did not get anticipatory bail, Adil Durrani had accused her of defaming her by posting a personal video

A Mumbai court has refused to grant anticipatory bail to Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant in a case filed by her estranged husband Adil Durrani. Her husband has filed this case for allegedly leaking private videos of both of them. Additional Sessions Judge (Dindoshi court) Shrikant Y Bhosale rejected Sawant’s bail plea on January 8. The detailed order of the court was made available on Friday.

The case was registered under relevant sections of the Information Technology (IT) Act at suburban Amboli police station based on the complaint of Sawant’s estranged husband Adil Durrani.

Adil accused Rakhi Sawant of defaming him
Durrani has accused Sawant of posting private videos of the two of them on several online forums to defame him. In his pre-arrest bail application, Sawant has said through his lawyer that this FIR has been lodged against him with the sole intention of harassing him, putting pressure on him and implicating him in a false and fake case.

Sawant said- this is misuse of the process of law
Sawant said that this FIR is nothing but an abuse of the process of law and it has no substance. He had filed the bail petition through lawyer Ali Kasif Khan Deshmukh.

‘Not a suitable case for granting anticipatory bail’
The court said that the material allegedly broadcast or published by the actress is not only obscene but also completely sexual. With this it was said, ‘After considering the facts, allegations and circumstances related to the incident (the court has come to the opinion that) this is not a suitable case for granting anticipatory bail.’
