Uttarakhand: Cultural festivals will be organized in the state from January 14 to January 22, January 22 will be a dry day in the state, CM Dhami gave instructions

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held a virtual meeting with all the District Magistrates from the Secretariat on Friday and directed that grand events should be organized in the state under the cultural festival from 14 to 22 January 2024. He said that Ramlala’s life will be consecrated in Ayodhya on January 22. To commemorate this, grand programs should be organized in the state with full public participation.
The Chief Minister said that by following the ideals of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram, we are continuously working to fulfill the opportunity that we have got to serve the land of Gods with our “choiceless resolve”. We have to make Uttarakhand the best state of the country. Ramlala is going to sit in Ayodhya on 22nd January and this is an opportunity for which we have waited for years. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has provided an opportunity to one hundred and forty crore countrymen to celebrate Ramotsav. Everyone will have to cooperate in organizing this grand event of Lord Ram’s life consecration in the state with divine and dignity.
The Chief Minister said that cleanliness campaign should be conducted on a large scale in temples, ghats, establishments and cities in the districts. All District Magistrates should ensure that this program is not limited to government programs only. In this, Deepotsav, Ramcharitmanas recitation, bhajan-kirtan, Prasad distribution, cleanliness programs should be conducted with the participation of Mahila Mangal Dal, Yuvak Mangal Dal self-help groups, social organizations and common people. Prasad should be distributed in all major temples and Gurudwaras on 22 January. Arrangements should be made for distribution of Prasad to the poor with public participation. Millets of Uttarakhand should be included as much as possible in the form of Prasad. The Chief Minister said that people should be motivated to celebrate Deepotsav in all homes on 22 January. Lord Surya is entering Uttarayan, on this auspicious occasion Ramlala’s consecration is taking place in Ayodhya. This occasion will be celebrated like the festival of Diwali in the entire state.
The Chief Minister instructed all the District Magistrates to organize various cultural and religious programs in the districts from 14 to 22 January. Special attention should be paid to Aarti, Ram Bhajan, Kalash Yatra, wall painting, lighting and cleanliness in offices at major ghats. The Chief Minister said that there should be innovation in these programmes. The district which organizes the best program will also be honoured. The Chief Minister said that all the departments should also organize programs on this occasion at their level. The Chief Minister directed that January 22 should be declared a dry day in the state. The Chief Minister directed that programs under cultural festival should also be organized in old age homes, Nari Niketan, leprosy homes, orphanages and hospitals.
On this occasion, all the District Magistrates gave information about various programs to be organized in the cultural festival from 14 to 22 January. A grand program with Ram Bhajan will be organized at Raghunath Temple, Devprayag. Grand events will be organized at Rameshwar and Pancheshwar temples in Pithoragarh. Programs will also be organized at Ram Mandir and Sharda Ghat located in Champawat Chhatar. Tableaux based on Ram Mandir theme will be taken out at Uttarayani Kauthik in Bageshwar. The main program will be organized at Katarmal in Almora. Programs will be organized at Prayag and Panchbadri in Chamoli. Grand programs will also be organized at Kainchi Dham and Nena Devi Temple in Nainital.
On this occasion, Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Secretary and Commissioner Garhwal Vinay Shankar Pandey, Secretary Culture HC Semwal, Director Culture Ms. Beena Bhatt and all the District Magistrates were present through virtual medium.
