A 2000 year old ancient city was found, the people here had ‘disappeared’, now the mystery will be revealed!
An ancient city has been discovered after 2 thousand years near the mountains in the Amazon Rainforest. This mysterious city has been found buried deep in the Upano Valley beneath the foothills of the Andes. This site was home to at least 10 thousand people, who later mysteriously ‘disappeared’. After all, what happened to the people here, now this mystery will be revealed, because experts have started finding answers to all the questions related to this place.
This is how this city was discovered: According to the report of The Sun, about 10 thousand people once lived at this place found in Ecuador. This ancient city had a system of platforms, plazas, roads, fields and canals. Laser-sensor technology has revealed a network of earthen mounds and buried roads in the Upano Valley, hidden for centuries beneath the foothills of the Andes.
Many roads were absolutely straight. Residential and ceremonial structures were built on approximately 6,000 earthen mounds, which were surrounded by agricultural fields with drainage channels. The widest roads were 33 feet wide and 6 to 12 miles long.
According to research co-author Antoine Dorison, an archaeologist at France’s National Center for Scientific Research, the site was home to at least 10,000 people, and may have been as many as 15,000 or 30,000. The Upano people, whose number is estimated at 30,000. Mysteriously ‘disappeared’ between 300 and 600 CE.
About 200 years later, the Huapula civilization arrived in the region, and by the time Europeans arrived in South America, the once-thriving cities were mostly buried in jungle.
Who saw the mounds here for the first time?
The network of settlements was described in an article published by leading researcher Stephen Rosten and other people in science. Rosten first saw the mounds at the site about 20 years ago, at which time he said he didn’t believe something like this would be there, but now he is celebrating the ‘incredible’ discovery. Rosten said, ‘It was a lost valley of cities. this is wonderful.’
