Bihar made a record by giving jobs to 2.25 lakh teachers, CM Nitish handed over appointment letters

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) organized the appointment letter distribution ceremony for newly appointed teachers today (13 January 2024) at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar distributed appointment letters to 26,935 teachers including 26,935 teachers from across the state at the historic Gandhi Maidan.  Appointment letters were simultaneously handed over to 96,823 newly appointed teachers. On this occasion, Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav, Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar and many other officials were present.

Actually, on Saturday, 96 thousand 823 teachers recommended by BPSC were given appointment letters in one day. CM Nitish Kumar handed over appointment letters to 26 thousand 935 teachers at Gandhi Maidan in Patna. While the other 85 thousand newly appointed teachers were given appointment letters.  Appointment letters were given by the ministers in-charge in the district headquarters. Meanwhile, Sushil Kumar, who won an amount of Rs 5 crore in the ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ TV game show, was also given the appointment letter.

Bihar has become the first state in the country to give appointment letters to about 2.25 lakh newly appointed teachers from November 2023 to January 2024.  The examination for the second phase of teacher recruitment was conducted by BPSC from 7 to 15 December.  Under this second phase examination, recruitment was done for a total of 1.20 lakh posts.  About eight lakh candidates had appeared in it.  After this examination, 1.10 lakh candidates have been successful.  To whom the appointment letter was handed over on January 13.

These also include 2,727 candidates who were successful in the first phase supplementary, who have been given appointment letters at Gandhi Maidan. All the appointed teachers of 14 districts have been called to Patna. Maximum of these are around 3,500 teachers from Saran district. All the districts  Passenger buses have been arranged to bring teachers from Bihar. Apart from this, appointment letter distribution ceremony was also organized in 24 different districts of Bihar from 3 pm.

On this occasion, Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar praised the work of Nitish government.  He said, ‘Under you (Nitish), the state government is trying to increase jobs, but there are people who are busy spreading hatred.  More than 725 bridges and culverts were built by the state government for infrastructure development.  Bihar has recorded unprecedented development with you.

He further said, ‘I have never found a place which has created more than 1 lakh jobs. When it comes to describing Nitish’s achievements for the state, the dictionary falls short.’
