This is the matter

During the tenure of the previous board of the Municipal Corporation, about 1000 sanitation workers were recruited through the Councilor Committee to improve the sanitation system. A minimum of five and a maximum of 16 employees were kept in each ward. Every month Rs 15-15 thousand per employee was being paid as salary. But after the dissolution of the board on December 2, when an attempt was made to make a new system, complaints of irregularities in the salaries and PF etc. of the employees started being received. After this, it was decided to transfer the salaries directly to the employees’ accounts.

This is how the scam came to light

For this, when the physical presence of each employee of the committees in the Municipal Corporation was collected from the Aadhaar card and bank account number, it was found that almost half of the employees are missing and someone else is working in their place. It became clear that salaries were not being given as per the list given. In the name of fraud in the name of salaries of the employees deployed in the city’s cleanliness system, the Municipal Corporation has paid about Rs 1.5 crore every month. The monthly salary of each employee is Rs 15 thousand. In such a situation, the Municipal Corporation has paid about Rs 90 crore in the last 5 years, out of about Rs 18 crore per year.

2 thousand employees instead of 15 thousand employees

Now the temporary women sanitation workers who were thrown out after verification are making rounds of the Municipal Corporation for their jobs. The victim, a sanitation worker resident of Indresh Nagar, approached the Municipal Corporation and requested for her job, saying that she was working as a temporary sanitation worker of the Municipal Corporation in place of someone else.
