Son’s body kept in suitcase and then attempted suicide, female CEO told police how everything happened, husband also recorded statement

Bengaluru’s female CEO has shared some things related to the murder of her four-year-old son with the police. He told where his son had slept in the hotel room in Goa, where his suitcase was kept and how he had kept his son’s body in the suitcase.
According to Goa Police, based on the statement of Soochna Seth, the crime scene was recreated for one and a half hours on Friday (January 12). The police took the information to the hotel room where she was staying with her son.
During the crime scene recreation, the informant told how after the death of his son, he cut his wrist with a knife and tried to commit suicide. Police said that the informant had booked a one-way flight ticket from Bengaluru to Goa. Perhaps his intention was to return by road only.
On Saturday, Suchana’s husband Venkat Raman reached Calangute Police Station in Goa with his lawyer to record his statement. He was in Indonesia at the time of his son’s murder. After receiving the news of his son’s death from the police, he came to India on 9 January and performed the last rites of his son in Bengaluru on 10 January.
A note was found in the information bag, it was written – I cannot give a child to my husband.
Police also found a note written on tissue paper from the information bag. It is written in it – The court and my husband are putting pressure on me regarding the custody of my child. My husband is violent. I can’t give him my child even for a day.
Police said that the note was written on tissue paper with eyeliner or kajal pencil. The information had written a note and torn it. The police folded the piece of tissue paper and read the message written in it.
Police believe that it could be a suicide note, as Suchana had cut the vein of her hand after killing her son. Police have seized a knife, towel, pillow and a red bag from the hotel room.
On January 6, Suchana had messaged her husband asking him to meet her son.
Suchana was living separately from her husband Venkat Raman. The process of divorce of both of them was going on. The custody of the child was with Soochana and the court had allowed Venkat to meet his child every Sunday.
Police investigation has revealed that Soochna had messaged her husband on January 6 that she could meet her son the next day. However, when he went to meet his son on January 7, he came to know that mother and son were not in Bengaluru. After this Venkat Raman left for Indonesia on the same day.
The hotel manager of Goa told that Suchana had booked the room in advance from January 6 to January 10. But, on the intervening night of January 7 and 8, he suddenly checked out at 12:30 am. Earlier in the day, he had also ordered two bottles of cough syrup for his son from the reception.
Information caught by the police due to the intelligence of the taxi driver
Soochna was caught due to the driver of the taxi she had booked to go from Goa to Bangalore. The taxi driver was identified as Roy John D’Souza, a resident of North Goa. He told the media that he had reached the hotel with one of his companions on the call of the hotel receptionist.
A fare of Rs 30,000 was finalized with the information to take him to Bengaluru. Information left for Bengaluru in that taxi in the night itself. On January 8, around 11 am, the driver received a call from the Calangute Police Inspector of Goa.
The inspector asked her whether Suchana was alone or had any children with her. The driver told that the information is alone. The inspector and the taxi driver were talking in Konkani language. Therefore the information could not understand their conversation. The police told the entire incident to the driver.
After this the police asked the taxi driver to call the information. Then the police interrogated the information. The information told the police that her son was with a relative in Goa. The information had given an address, which turned out to be fake. After this the inspector instructed the taxi driver to immediately go to the nearest police station.
The driver found the location of the police station on Google Map
The driver told that they were on the expressway at that time. All the signboards there were in Kannada, so he did not understand where to go. He searched for the police station on Google Maps, which showed it to be 150 km away.
The driver told the informant that he and his companion had to go to the toilet. Then he was in Chitradurga district of Karnataka. The taxi driver stopped the car at a roadside restaurant and talked to the watchman there. The watchman told them that Aimangala police station was at a distance of 500 meters.
After this the taxi driver went to Aimangala police station for information. As soon as he saw the police station, Soochana asked the taxi driver why he had stopped the car here. Meanwhile, the driver gave the phone to the in-charge of Aimangala police station. Aimangla Police spoke to Goa Police and checked the luggage of the information. The body of Soochana’s son was found there.
Postmortem report talks about murder by strangulation
The postmortem report of the child came out on Wednesday (January 10). The doctor said that the child was murdered by strangulation. It seems as if strangulation has been done with a pillow or towel. The hand has not been used. The child’s face and chest were swollen. Blood also flowed from his nose.
Suchana decided to divorce her husband after 12 years of marriage
According to the police, Suchana is originally a resident of West Bengal. She lived in Bengaluru. In 2010, Soochana was married to Venkat Raman, a resident of Kerala. Venkat Raman is an AI developer. In 2019, Suchana gave birth to a son.
However, from 2020, disputes started between Soochana and her husband. From 2021, both started living separately. Then filed for divorce in 2022. The court had ordered that Suchana’s husband can meet their child every Sunday.
Information did not like the meeting of her husband and her child
Suchana did not want her husband to meet her son. Information had also accused her husband of domestic violence in August 2022. She had said- My husband physically abuses me and my son.
The information had claimed that her husband’s annual income was more than Rs 1 crore. She had demanded Rs 2.5 lakh every month from her husband as maintenance allowance.
Suchana’s husband Venkat Raman was in Jakarta (Indonesia) at the time of the incident. On the information of Goa Police, he came to Chitradurga in Karnataka on 9 January. Venkat performed the last rites of his son in Bengaluru on Wednesday (January 10).

According to Soochana Seth’s LinkedIn profile, he is an Artificial Intelligence ethics expert and data scientist. He has 12 years of experience working in data science and AI.
Suchana was included in the list of 100 talented women in AI ethics list in the year 2021. Apart from this, she has been a Mozilla Fellow in Data and Society, a Fellow at the Berkman Klein Center of Harvard University and a Research Fellow at the Raman Research Institute.
