Famous poet Munawwar Rana passes away, breathed his last at the age of 71
Famous poet Munawwar Rana has passed away after a long illness. Munawwar Rana was suffering from diseases for a long time. He breathed his last at SGPGI, Lucknow.
The news of his demise has been confirmed by his son. Munawwar was admitted to the ICU in SGPGI, Lucknow on January 9 after his health deteriorated.
According to the information, Munawwar Rana was suffering from chronic kidney disease and had to undergo dialysis three times a week. Recently he also had pneumonia.
Munawwar Rana was honored with the Sahitya Akademi Award and the Mati Ratan Award.
