Yemen’s Houthi rebels retaliated, fired missiles at American ship, Biden’s army destroyed it

Yemen’s Houthi rebels on Sunday fired an anti-ship cruise missile at an American ship in the Red Sea, which was shot down by an American fighter plane. The officers provided this information. There have been recent attacks affecting shipping movements globally amid Israel’s war with Hamas in the Gaza Strip. The US and allies launched attacks on the rebels on Friday, marking the first time the Houthis have attacked ships in the Red Sea after weeks of attacks on ships in the Red Sea. America has confirmed this attack.

The Houthis have targeted oil and cargo ships from Asia and the Middle East during the Israel-Hamas war along the vital corridor linking the Suez Canal to Europe. Such attacks threaten to turn the Israel-Hamas war into a regional conflict. The Iran-allied Shia rebel group Houthi has not yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The US Army’s Central Command said in a statement that the Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Laboon, operating in the southern areas of the Red Sea, was targeted by Houthi shelling.

The US said the missile came from near the Red Sea port city of Hodeida, which has long been held by Houthi rebels. Central Command said, ‘An anti-ship cruise missile was fired towards ‘USS Laboon’ from the Iran-backed Houthi rebel areas of Yemen. There is no information about any casualty or damage in the incident.
