Kingpin from Bihar is carrying out cyber fraud in Jharkhand, 16 arrested from Bokaro
Cyber crime cases are increasing in Jharkhand. After Jamtara, Deoghar, Giridih, Bokaro’s name has also been added to this list. Police have arrested 16 people from Sector-12 of Bokaro on charges of cyber crime. All the arrested accused are residents of Bihar. SIM, coupon card, customer details etc. have been found from them, which were being used for fraud. In fact, the police station in-charge of Sector-12 was continuously receiving information for several days that some outsiders living in rented houses around Bari Cooperative were committing cyber fraud. When the police station in-charge took action from his level to verify this information, some such suspicious boys were seen in plot number-119 of Bari Cooperative and plot number-647 of Manmohan Cooperative. After this, senior officials were informed and a raid team was formed and action was taken.
When the team formed by the police station in-charge raided the houses of both the plots, a total of 5 people were arrested from Bari Cooperative Plot No. 119 and a total of 11 people were arrested from Plot No. 647 located in Manmohan Cooperative Colony. Many documents, mobile phones, fake notes, pamphlets, offer letters etc. related to cyber crime have been recovered from these people. During enquiry, it was revealed that these people advertise/post themselves on Facebook and Instagram in the name of getting Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan and then cheat the people who fall under this temptation of huge amount in the name of processing fees.

At the same time, by getting the data of the people making online purchases, these people trick them into winning the lottery, then send a winner letter and coupon to their address through courier, in which the helpline number is mentioned. When you scratch the coupon, you get a bar code printed on it. Then customers contact the helpline number, these calls sound like fraud. After this, to bear the reward money, they are cheated of a huge amount in the name of processing fees and GST. During interrogation, the accused revealed the name of their leader as Sumit. He said, “He is a resident of Patna. We do all the work of cyber fraud on his instructions.”
