Survey of Mathura Shahi Eidgah will not be done, shock to Hindu side, SC stays High Court order

The Hindu side has received a setback from the Supreme Court in the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi case of Mathura. The apex court has stayed the decision of the Allahabad High Court, in which an order was given to appoint a court commissioner to survey the Shahi Idgah.

On December 14 last year, the Allahabad High Court had approved the survey of the Shahi Eidgah complex adjacent to the Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi temple in Mathura, against which the Muslim side had moved the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court, while hearing the petition of the Muslim side, said that the hearing in this case will continue in the High Court, but there will be an interim stay on the appointment of the Court Commissioner to conduct the survey.

The Supreme Court raised questions on the Hindu side and said that your application is not clear. You have to clearly state what you want. Apart from this, the transfer case is also pending in the court. We have to take a decision on that also.

On which petition did the High Court give its decision?

Lord Shri Krishna Virajman and 7 other people had filed a petition in Allahabad High Court through lawyers Hari Shankar Jain, Vishnu Shankar Jain, Prabhash Pandey and Devki Nandan demanding survey in Shahi Eidgah, demanding ASI survey. The petition claimed that the birthplace of Lord Shri Krishna is below the mosque and there are many signs which establish that the mosque was a Hindu temple.

Hindu side’s lawyer Vishnu Shankar Jain had said that in the petition it was presented before the Allahabad High Court that there is a lotus shaped pillar present there which is a specialty of Hindu temples.

Apart from this, there is also an image of ‘Sheshnag’, who is one of the Hindu deities. He had protected Lord Krishna on the night of his birth. It was also submitted in the court that there are Hindu religious symbols and carvings on the lower part of the pillars of the mosque. The applicant had requested the Court that a commission may be appointed with specific instructions to submit its report after surveying the Shahi Idgah Mosque within some stipulated time period.
