Uttar Pradesh: Dara Singh Chauhan’s ticket confirmed after a long wait, BJP fielded him in this election

Dara Singh Chauhan was elected MLA from Ghosi assembly seat of Mau district in the 2022 UP elections. Dara, who reached the Assembly on Samajwadi Party ticket, resigned from the membership of the Assembly and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). BJP made Dara its candidate in the by-election on Ghosi seat, which became vacant due to his resignation. SP’s Sudhakar Singh had defeated Dara in Ghosi by-election.
Now after a long wait, BJP has given Dara a second chance. BJP has now made Dara its candidate in the Legislative Council by-election. With the announcement of Dara’s candidature in the MLC by-election, speculations are also being made that the cabinet expansion of the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh may also happen soon.

Before the Lok Sabha elections, Dara Singh Chauhan may get a place in the Yogi cabinet. It is noteworthy that after the defeat of Dara Singh Chauhan in the Ghosi by-election, questions were being raised about his political future. Many top leaders of the state, including the state president of BJP, had camped in Ghosi and campaigned in favor of Dara Singh Chauhan.
Despite several ministers and senior party leaders, including Deputy CM Brajesh Pathak, camping in Ghosi and campaigning, Dara lost to SP’s Sudhakar Singh. After this defeat, it was even said that Dara Singh Chauhan’s stature in BJP would weaken and his political career was stuck in limbo. But now BJP has given the message by making Dara a candidate in the MLC by-election that the party will back him.
Let us tell you that since Dara had left the SP cycle and joined BJP, it was believed that before the Lok Sabha elections, BJP was eyeing Nonia (Chouhan) vote. Dara can be made a minister in the Yogi cabinet but after the defeat in Ghosi by-election, his wait became long. Now it is believed that Lok Sabha elections are near, hence Yogi cabinet may be expanded soon.
