A ship has once again been targeted near Yemen in the Arabian Sea. This time the ship has been attacked by a drone. After this the ship also caught fire. However, this was later controlled.
The Indian Navy said in a statement that a distress call from MV Genco Picardy was issued late Wednesday night and the navy dispatched a warship deployed in the area to rescue the 22 crew, including nine Indians. As soon as information about the drone attack was received, the Indian Navy dispatched the warship INS Visakhapatnam for help.

Indian Navy’s mission-deployed guided missile destroyer, INS Visakhapatnam, has responded to an SOS call from Marshall Islands-flagged MV Genco Picardy following a drone attack on Thursday night, January 17. INS Visakhapatnam is currently on anti-piracy operations in the Gulf of Aden. On a mission, he immediately responded to the SOS call.
