Read this warning from Google before using Incognito Mode, after the lawsuit the tech company took a big decision

Google Chrome has updated the policy for users using Incognito Mode. Before using this mode, users will now get a warning, in which it has been made clear that in this mode also the website can collect the data of the users. However, the data or activity of the website opened in this mode will not be visible to other users of that device. Earlier the tech company used to claim that this is a private browsing, in which the users’ data remains safe. Google had to change its policy after a long lawsuit and legal battle.

Warning will be available in new Chrome version
In the new 122.0.6251.0 version of Google Chrome, users will get this kind of warning in incognito i.e. private mode. This was spotted by MSPowerUser. In this version, the warning given to users when opening Incognito mode reads, ‘You can now do private browsing, and other people using this device will not be able to see your activity. However, items like downloads, bookmarks and reading lists will be saved.

In the warning given by Google to the users, it is also written that other users using this device will not be able to see your activity. However, this will not apply to your personal data collection by other websites and your use of their services. This clearly means that in this mode, the rule of private browsing will be only for other users using that device.

Because of this the policy changed
Google has changed this policy of its incognito mode or private browsing after the decision in which the tech company had settled a lawsuit that had been going on since 2020. In 2020, a user filed a lawsuit against Google and said that Google tracks, collects and identifies real-time data of users.

Google was already claiming that its private browsing i.e. Incognito mode is completely safe and users’ data is not collected. This new warning to Google Chrome users can be rolled out by next month. This mode can be used by the user only after approving this warning.
