‘Son’s marriage, crop harvesting… 3 convicts of Bilkis Bano case sought time to surrender, Supreme Court will hear tomorrow

Three convicts in Bilkis Bano gangrape case approach Supreme Court seeking extension of time to surrender. The door has been knocked. These petitions were mentioned before the apex court on Thursday, after which it will hear the matter on Friday, January 19 got ready to hear them.
Bilkis Bano case convicts Govindbhai Nai, Ramesh Roopabhai Chandana and Mitesh Chimanlal Bhat have filed a petition in the Supreme Court has filed a demand to extend the time of his surrender. Govindbhai Nai, citing his illness, there is a demand to extend the surrender time by 4 weeks. While Ramesh Rupabhai Chandana cited his son’s marriage, while Mitesh citing the harvest season, Chimanlal Bhat has demanded that they be given 6 weeks to surrender.
This petition seeking time for surrender was raised before the bench of Justice BV Nagarathna and Justice Sanjay Karol, on which the bench asked the registry to be sent to Chief Justice DY Chandrachud to constitute a bench to hear the petitions on Friday.
In fact, the Supreme Court, while giving its verdict on January 8, prematurely acquitted Bilkis Bano in the rape and murder case of her family members canceling the release given to 11 convicts, an order was issued asking them to surrender in jail within two weeks.
