But now the National Security Committee (NSC) has reiterated its resolve to respond with its full force. The real target in this meeting was Iran. Following the attacks, acting Foreign Minister Jalil Abbas Jilani and his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdollahian agreed to reduce tensions between the two sides. Apart from this, Jilani expressed readiness to work with Iran on all issues. Pakistan recalled its ambassador from Iran after the attacks. The Iranian ambassador was expelled. However, there is hope that relations will be back on track.

The world is trying to reduce stress
After the attack, the UN, America, Russia, European Union and other global powers have asked both sides to exercise restraint. Whereas mediation was offered by China. The NSC reviewed the situation thoroughly and appreciated the response of the armed forces against the unprovoked and unlawful violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty. According to the statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, information about the current situation between Pakistan and Iran was given during the meeting.

Will Pakistan give protection to terrorists?
In this meeting, Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee Chairman General Sahir Shamshad Mirza and Pakistani Army Chief Asim Munir and officials of intelligence agencies were also present. The NSC said Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity are sacrosanct and any country attempting to violate it under any pretext will be responded to with full force. It is clear from this meeting that Pakistan will continue to provide protection to terrorists. Even if Iran takes action against these terrorists, Pakistan will not tolerate it and will retaliate.
