After the death of 13 year old boy, Maldives President’s Office issued a statement, rules will be changed
The President’s Office of Maldives has issued a statement on the death of the child due to the Indian plane not getting permission to fly. The Maldives government has asked officials to change the protocols related to emergency transfer of patients. 13 year old Mohammed Jeh Khalid from Maldives died due to lack of treatment. This boy had to be airlifted for treatment but the President did not allow the use of India’s Dornier aircraft to airlift Jeh. Due to this, 13 year old Jeh lost his life.
The office of Maldivian President Mohammed Muizzu, who is facing criticism after Jeh’s death, issued a statement saying, President Muizzu is very saddened to hear the news of 13-year-old Jeh’s death. He has expressed condolences to Jeh’s parents and family. The President has told the concerned officers that all necessary changes should be made in the protocol related to the travel of serious patients to another country, so that the patients can get treatment without any delay.
The child’s family made many allegations against the Maldives government
After the death of Jeh, a resident of Gaaf Alif Villingili, Maldives, his family has accused Maldives government officials of failing in their responsibilities. The people of Gaff Alif Vilingili also demonstrated against the Muizzu government. Jeh’s father told that 13 year old child had brain tumor and he suffered a stroke on Wednesday night. On Thursday evening he was referred to Male for better treatment. Jeh’s father says that immediately after the stroke he called Island Aviation to take him to Male but they did not answer our calls. He answered our call the next day. There was such a delay in arranging transportation for the child that he lost his life.
