Uttarakhand: Chauhan expressed gratitude to PM and CM along with Union Minister Gadkari, said – widening of Kalsi-Barkot road will prove to be a milestone in the development of Yamuna Valley

BJP state media in-charge Manveer Chauhan described the approval of road widening on Yamunotri Highway via Kalsi Barkot as a milestone for the development of Yamuna Valley and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on behalf of the region. Expressed gratitude.

He termed this decision to improve connectivity with the capital of Yamuna Valley as a result of CM Dhami’s efforts for ‘Connecting Uttarakhand, Growing Uttarakhand’.

Chauhan said that for a long time, the entire Uttarkashi including Yamuna Valley has been demanding that the Kalsi/Herbertpur to Barkot Bend section of National Highway 507 should be widened to 2-lane. Because it was very important to improve the connectivity with the capital and ease the travel of the local people. Also, this work was very important in view of reducing the distance to Char Dham for the pilgrims, making the journey easier and considering the increase in their number in the coming days.

He informed that a request was made by him to CM Pushkar Dhami. Now after the widening has been approved under EPC mode at a cost of Rs 346.82 crore, the connectivity from Yamunotri to Chardham is set to improve. This will make it easier for the local people to reach Dehradun for important works related to health, supplies and employment, and will also prove to be a qualitative boost to the tourism potential in the area.

Now, travelers going to Yamunotri will not reach Rishikesh via Tehri Dharasu, but will reach Yamunotri directly via Harbatpur, which will be convenient.
