Uttarakhand / Mussoorie: Shubham remained fearless, weapons remained inside the police’s waistband, did not bother to fire, two inspectors suspended

The negligence of two inspectors in the team that went to arrest Shubham in Mussoorie has come to light. Both of them have been suspended by the police captain. The inspectors were armed with weapons but no one bothered to remove the pistol from their waistband. Shubham shot Mithun Kumar and ran away waving his weapon but no one could muster the courage to shoot at him from behind. Some policemen definitely ran after him.
Actually, the police had come to know that Shubham was hiding in Mussoorie. The homestay had also been confirmed. His ID in the register also proved that Shubham was staying in room number 101. Police knew he might have a weapon. Therefore, three sub-inspectors and two constables had come to arrest him. Everyone also had their own pistol.
Everyone put their pistols in their waistband and moved towards the room. When Inspector Mithun Kumar and others knocked on the door, Shubham peeked inside. Perhaps he guessed that no one had weapons. As soon as she closed the door, Mithun Kumar showed courage and caught hold of her.
But fearless Shubham placed the pistol near Mithun’s stomach and fired. Even after seeing such a scuffle, the other inspectors did not give them cover. It is being told that when the investigation was done, the incident in the corridor of the room was captured in the CCTV footage. Shubham ran away after firing but no one fired from behind. What’s more, it is being said that none of the inspectors even took out the pistol from their waistband.
Whereas, both of them are currently handling two important posts of Raipur police station. But, the experience was of manning a post but not of using weapons. Seeing the negligence, SSP Ajay Singh suspended outpost in-charge Balawala Sunil Negi and outpost in-charge Mayur Vihar Jaiveer Singh with immediate effect.
Had he drawn his weapon, Shubham might not have been able to muster the courage
According to experts, during any such operation, fellow policemen have to remain deployed from behind. If there is a possibility of the miscreant having weapons, then they are deployed with weapons by taking positions one after the other.
But, no one covered Mithun Kumar in this incident nor did any retribution later. Whereas, if everyone had weapons out, perhaps Shubham would not have been able to muster the courage to open fire. Luckily he didn’t shoot at anyone else.
