Uttarakhand / Udham Singh Nagar: Elderly man crushed by vehicle, had left home to go to Ayodhya

An elderly man who had left home to go to Ayodhya was crushed by a vehicle in Kichha of Udham Singh Nagar district. The deceased has been identified as Bhuvan Chand Joshi, resident of Haldwani. It is being told that he had set out to visit Ayodhya on a bicycle.

On Sunday, a bike rider informed the patrolling police deployed near Kali Mandir about an accident near Gokulnagar. Police reached the spot but by then the old man had died. On the basis of the Aadhar card found in the pocket of the deceased, the deceased was identified as Bhuvan Chand Joshi (72), son of Mathura Dutt Joshi, resident of Ward 12 Himalaya Colony, Abdulla Building, Haldwani.
Was going to Ayodhya to see Ram Lala
According to the information received, Bhuvan Chand Joshi (72), son of Mathura Dutt Joshi, was going to Ayodhya for the darshan of Ram Lala. For which he left his house on a bicycle. But on brother’s persuasion, he was returning home from Kichcha. But he died in an accident on the way.
The desire to go to Ayodhya could not be fulfilled
It is being told that Bhuvan Chand Joshi used to commute by bicycle only. Retired from Municipality Haldwani 12 years ago. On Saturday, he talked about going to Ayodhya to have darshan of Lord Shri Ram and he left with one thousand rupees from his son. He left for Ayodhya on bicycle at around 4 pm and reached Kichha after covering a distance of 35 km in four hours.
Due to darkness, he spent the night at the roadways bus stand. He reached younger brother Gopal’s house early in the morning and after meeting him, the brother refused him to go to Ayodhya right now. Due to which he was returning back to his home. But at a distance of five km from Kichha, an unknown vehicle crushed him.
