The incident happened on Wednesday. According to the information received, there was a ruckus between two parties regarding the cremation of dead bodies in the cremation ground located in ward number seven of Chiliyanaula municipality. It is being told that one party started talking about not cremating the dead bodies here. The other side says that he was adamant on having an ancestral cremation ground here. The matter escalated so much that the police had to come to the spot and take charge. The administration team along with the police force also reached the spot.

On Wednesday, an elderly woman resident of Chilianula passed away. The family members reached the ancestral cremation ground of Bora community in ward number seven of Chiliyanaula municipality to prepare for the cremation. Seeing people preparing for cremation, people of Adarsh Colony also reached the spot. After which he started protesting against the cremation there. People of Adarsh Colony say that the colony is right from above. In such a situation, cremation cannot be done here.
Villagers are adamant on the demand of ban on cremation of dead bodies
On the other hand, the people preparing for cremation said that it was the ancestral cremation ground of the Bora community. The old woman has also expressed her desire to be cremated in the same cremation ground. The protesting people reached the municipality office and stood firm on their demand to stop cremation of dead bodies. After the information, the police team and in-charge Tehsildar Hemant Mahara also reached the spot. The Tehsildar somehow explained it to the people of Adarsh Colony. Mahara said that this time the cremation should be allowed. This will be banned in future and only then the matter will be calmed down.
There will be a meeting with both the parties
According to the information, Ranikhet in-charge Tehsildar Hemant Mahra said that currently a settlement has been reached in the matter. The last rites of the old woman have been performed. There will be a meeting with both the parties in future to find a proper solution to this matter.
